About the Trustees
The Board of Library Trustees consists of seven community members elected for three years, in staggered terms. The Trustees may also seek to appoint Associate Board non-voting members. Trustees ensure that the Library supports the needs of our community and reflects the community’s values. The Trustees are authorized to set policies for the library. The Board of Library Trustees meets on the second Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m.

Advisory Board
The Board of Library Trustees may appoint non-voting Advisory Board members of up to four individuals with the goal of increasing Board diversity, broadening perspectives, and encouraging community participation. Are you passionate about your community, leadership, and the library? Here’s your chance to make a real impact! The Chelmsford Board of Library Trustees is now seeking applicants for the position of Student Representative to the Board. As a Student Representative, you’ll bring the voice of youth to important decisions, develop leadership skills, and give back to the library that serves you. Applicants should be current high school students (preferably juniors or sophomores) and should have an interest in the Chelmsford Public Library and a willingness to learn about library issues. Applications are due on Friday, November 15, 2024, and can be found here.
