The Great Courses: Expand your Knowledge Anywhere
The Great Courses are available online and on our shelves! It’s hardly news that The Great Courses are a great learning resource for curious people of all ages who want to find some of the best lectures and content anywhere on hundreds of topics. But there are more ways than ever to take The Great Courses with you wherever you go, with a few simple technical tricks and your Chelmsford Public Library card.
Go to the Libby app or mvlc.overdrive.com and search for The Great Courses. For best results, select the author search that appears.
The Great Courses classes are available as audiobooks in Libby, and you can borrow and place holds just like the other audiobooks in the OverDrive collection. They can be borrowed for up to three weeks.
You can also find The Great Courses all over the place in the library. Dozens of DVD titles on historical, cultural, and technical subjects can be found throughout the non-fiction collection on the lower level, and can be found in the catalog with a simple keyword search.
The MVLC catalog will show you Great Courses on DVD with their location right alongside non-fiction books, and our reference staff will be happy to help you find the titles you are looking for.
We also have two streaming services that provide access to The Great Courses anywhere you have a digital device and an internet connection. Kanopy is known for its great cinema and documentary collection, but you can also access The Great Courses just as you would with a television series. Each topic is split up into individual episodes, and includes supplementary reading material to enhance your learning.

If that’s not enough, you can switch over to Hoopla and get the Great Courses BingePass. The Binge Pass will give you all-you-can-watch Great Courses learning for seven days, for just one of your monthly borrows.
