Upcoming Creativebug Classes for August

Creativebug is your portal to thousands of craft classes for all ages, interests, and skill levels. You can learn hundreds of crafts from book arts to chocolate work for free with your Chelmsford Public Library card, with new topics and classes added every week.
Here are some new additions to the Creativebug library and live programs debuting in August!

Intro to Paper Quilling: A Daily Practice

Join Nikki Furlong of Simply Quilled Designs for a short lesson each day in paper quilling, also known as paper filigree. You’ll learn to create intricate scrolls, petals, and other forms from small coils of paper. Your quilling tool can be an object as simple as a pin or a paper clip! The month’s activities will come together in a gorgeous flower mandala.

August 7 - Faith Hale - Sew Upcycled Kids Clothes

Sew Upcycled Kid’s Clothes

Creativebug contributing editor and upcycling fanatic Faith Hale will show you how to save old clothes from the landfill to make a beanie, a vest, and leggings for kids using basic tools and simple techniques in a way that encourages a more creative approach than working from a pattern. Grow your skills and make repurposing clothes a regular part of your repertoire!

Make Faux Knit Dangle Earrings with Polymer Clay

Faheema Chaudhury of Unicorn Crafts will show you how to “knit” with polymer clay. Using a variety of non-textile tools such as a hand drill or pasta machine, and some basic clay techniques, you’ll learn to make knit-style textures in beautiful earrings.

Fabric Framing

Make beautiful fabric frames for your photos and art! Artist and author Courtney Cerruti will present techniques to turn small fabric pieces into custom mats for elegance on a budget.
