For our final storytimes of the school year, the preschool groups on Wednesday and Friday read four fantastic stories about ducks! (Or maybe one of them was about a rabbit. We can’t decide.)
At the end of storytime, we played a game using rubber ducks that were dressed like heroes. We had superhero ducks in capes and masks, as well as everyday heroes like nurses, firefighters, and members of the armed forces. We will be seeing these ducks again in a few weeks, and every child who signs up for the library’s Summer Reading Program will get to take one home. The theme for this summer’s program is Every Hero Has a Story. What story will your duck tell?
Today was the last storytime of this session. We ended with lots of giggles and laughs and smiles.
The children listened to many verses of Mary Had a Little Lamb read from a big book and then in honor of the Teddy Bear Picnic tomorrow, everyone read from a board book the story of the Big Hungry Bear.
Today was the last baby storytime of the session so we ended with a favorite book of mine! It has a wonderful surprise ending that always puts a smile on your face.
