Dads and Donuts in June
Fathers’ Day is an important June date, so we read two stories about dads:
There’s a new story up at the StoryWalk at Sunny Meadow Farm (the community gardens). Take a walk and check out this classic tale that we read today:
Last, we read the story of a very special tree. I had lots of help reading this book!

Books for Preschoolers on Wednesday, May 13 and Friday, May 15
For our final storytimes of the school year, the preschool groups on Wednesday and Friday read four fantastic stories about ducks! (Or maybe one of them was about a rabbit. We can’t decide.)
At the end of storytime, we played a game using rubber ducks that were dressed like heroes. We had superhero ducks in capes and masks, as well as everyday heroes like nurses, firefighters, and members of the armed forces. We will be seeing these ducks again in a few weeks, and every child who signs up for the library’s Summer Reading Program will get to take one home. The theme for this summer’s program is Every Hero Has a Story. What story will your duck tell?
