Stories for Preschoolers on Wednesday, July 8

This morning’s storytime featured books about gardens and gardeners. We read about vegetable gardens, flower gardens, and even a magical garden that grows buttons and seashells!

Our last book, The Carrot Seed, is currently featured in the StoryWalk at Sunny Meadow Community Garden. The Library has partnered with the Chelmsford Open Space Stewards to create a StoryWalk along a trail at the community garden. The garden is at the end of Robin Hill Road near Route 27 in South Chelmsford.

Stories for Preschoolers on Friday, July 3

Today was our first summer storytime at the MacKay Library! To celebrate the warm weather, our storytimes at MacKay will be held outside all summer with a picnic lunch on Fridays at 11:30. So bring your lunch, sunscreen, and something to sit on. We will move indoors on days with bad weather.

Our outdoor space features a garden with a variety of vegetables and herbs. Families are invited to walk through the garden and see what is growing. We will be tasting some of the produce during storytime this summer.

Today we read books about Independence Day, firefighters, and superheroes. Click on the images below to find these books in the library catalog.

Books for Preschoolers on Wednesday, July 1

Today was our first storytime of the summer! After six long weeks we’re so excited to start up again. We kicked things off with a summertime favorite: Mouse’s First Summer by Lauren Thompson. Because the theme for this year’s Summer Reading Program is “Every Hero Has a Story,” the rest of our storytime featured books about superheroes!

It’s not too late to sign up for the Summer Reading Program. Visit the main library or the MacKay branch and talk to a member of our staff to get started.
