Volunteer Opportunities
The
Library is happy to introduce a new volunteer website that attempts to
"match" potential volunteers with volunteer opportunities --
www.chelmsfordvolunteers.org
The library offers a limited number of volunteer jobs for Adults and
Teens. We maintain two email mailing lists of volunteers (one for teens
and one for adults) to which we post volunteer opportunities as they arise.
Sharon Colvin, the library's teen services librarian, coordinates
the teen volunteer program.
Kathy Cryan-Hicks coordinates the program for
adults.
Teens, be sure to take a look at the Teen
Webpage for teen volunteer opportunities
If you wish to have your name and email added to one of our volunteer
mailing lists please print our volunteer
application form [pdf] and return it to Sharon Colvin (if
you are a teen) or to Kathy Cryan-Hicks (if you are an adult). Adult volunteers
(over age 18) are required to fill out a CORI form.

Some of the work our volunteers do includes clerical work, helping
to serve refreshments at receptions, taking photographs of library programs
or helping with sound equipment at library concerts. Some of our volunteers
facilitate programs.

If you have a special skill or interest that you would like to share
on an ongoing basis, talk with us. To run a monthly program requires
a very special volunteer, one who is qualified and willing to give a
lot of time to research and prepare the program as well as be available
to run the program. All volunteers (18 and over) must fill out CORI
forms. They must also adhere to the state required "Conflict of
Interest" law.
For more information on volunteer positions contact Kathy Cryan-Hicks
at 978-256-5521, ext. 109, or email: kcryanhic@mvlc.org
