Friends Book Sale

The annual Friends of the Library Book Sale is a significant source of funding for library programming, museum passes and many extras for Chelmsford patrons. The community's support through donations and volunteer hours is greatly appreciated.

The Friends' 2012 Book Sale brought in $24,603!

Thank you to everyone who supported the book sale - we hope you found something great.

2013 Book Sale:
Friday Sept. 20 9 AM - 9 PM
Saturday Sept. 21 9 AM - 6 PM
Sunday Sept. 22 9 AM - 1 PM

Book Donation Drop-Offs

Beginning in the Spring, the Friends will hold regularly-scheduled book drop-offs. The current schedule for those drop-off days is:

You can always drop off books in the 24/7 drop off bin, located in the rear of the parking lot between the library and the yellow house.

The drop-off location is the Dutton House (the yellow house next to the main library). For more information call 978-256-5521. The Friends seek books of all kinds in good condition including recent best sellers, fiction, non-fiction, children's books, paperbacks - as well as records, tapes, videos, CDs, maps, textbooks, local interest.

If you are unable to make one of the scheduled drop-offs, you can use the Book Sale Donation box, located on the edge of the parking lot between the Library and the Dutton House. Or, if you are emptying a house or an estate and would like to donate a large collection of books, please contact the Friends directly to make special arrangements.

  • No National Geographics
  • No Encyclopedias
  • No Textbooks older than 4 years old
  • No Reader's Digest Condensed Books
  • No Magazines

The Friends cannot accept the above items. Note: They can be recycled curbside if you first remove the covers.
