MA Senate Special Election Primary: Tues, Apr 30, 2013

Vote!The Massachusetts Senate Special Election is Tuesday, April 30th, 2013, to fill the seat vacated by Secretary of State John Kerry. Polls will be open 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM.

The candidates are:

Democrats

Republicans

Polling Locations:

Precincts 1 & 9 - Town Office Building Gym, 50 Billerica Road
Precincts 2 & 3 - Harrington School Gym, 120 Richardson Road
Precincts 4 & 6 - Westlands School Gym, 170 Dalton Road
Precincts 5 - Byam School Gym, 25 Maple Road
Precincts 7 & 8 - Mccarthy School Gym, 250 North Road

The Special Election itself for this Senate seat will be on Tuesday, June 25, 2013.

2010 Flu Shots in Chelmsford

Flu Shot signFlu season is here again. The Town of Chelmsford is providing flu shots free for town residents through a Seasonal Flu and Pneumonia Vaccine Clinic.

Tuesday, October 19, 2010

  • 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. (for Chelmsford residents ages 65+ and those under 65 with a chronic illness)
  • 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. (for all Chelmsford residents older than 6 months)

Residents age 65+ please bring ALL of your HEALTH INSURANCE CARDS with you. Donations are accepted from those under age 65 to cover the cost of the vaccine and supplies.

The clinic is administered by the Chelmsford Board of Health, and will be providing protection against three viruses:

  • A/H1N1 (pandemic) influenza
  • A/H3N2 influenza
  • Influenza B

Chelmsford Town-Wide Cleanup 2010

Where: All roads, parks and yards

It’s in your hands. The snow has melted revealing the roadside waste that has accumulated over the Winter. Please pitch in and help get the Town ready for Spring.

  • answers frequently asked questions
  • a flyer/poster [pdf] to help promote the event

Bags can be picked up from the Office of Recycling and Solid Waste Monday - Friday from 9 a.m. - 12 noon. The Town-wide Cleanup this year is sponsored by the Chelmsford Business Association and The Green Lawn Company.

Town Election April 6, 2010

Polls will be open 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM

A specimen ballot [pdf] is available for review, and there are both open positions and one question:

Question 1:

Shall the Town of Chelmsford be allowed to exempt from the provisions of proposition two and one-half, so-called, the amounts required to pay for the bond issued in order to acquire found parcels of land, containing a total of 16.97 acres, more or less, and the 92,844 +/- square-foot building thereon located at 9 Alpha Road in Chelmsford, and to fund the design and the redevelopment of the land and building into a Department of Pubic Works facility?

Chelmsford Town Website Honored

Town of Chelmsford sealChelmsford has earned recognition for the way it makes Town records and information available to the public through the Town website.

Common Cause Massachusetts annually surveys municipal websites, and is presenting its 2010 e-Government Award to Chelmsford and 180 other cities and towns on Tuesday, March 16 at the State House. The Chelmsford Independent reports,

Chelmsford is being honored, with distinction, for posting key minutes, agendas, the budget, town bylaws, the Town Meeting warrant, Town Meeting results archives of meeting minutes and agendas, among other ephemera.

This program is designed to promote governmental participation of “Sunshine Week,” which highlights the need to make information collected and produced by government agencies, as well as the actions taken by government agencies, known and available to the public.

The Chelmsford Library also strives to make access to information as easy as possible for the public. Please visit and explore the Town's website and the Library's website, and contact Town Offices or the Library's Reference Desk for help locating information.
