The Chelmsford Water District recently published their Annual Customer Confidence Report for 2012, and it is available online as a PDF.
The report contains useful information concerning the water quality of Chelmsford, the makeup of public drinking water, health information, water and plumbing facts, and questions and answers about the Chelmsford Water District and Chelmsford drinking water. For instance:
Where Does My Water Come From?
The Chelmsford Water District customers are fortunate because we enjoy an abundant water supply from 19 sources. The Chelmsford Water District draws water from the Merrimack and Concord river basins. Our reservoirs hold one of the state’s largest capacities: 15 million gallons of water. Combined, our facilities provide roughly 1 billion gallons of clean drinking water each year.
The online version of the report is available on their website [pdf]. If you'd like a printed version, copies are available at the library or you can request one by contacting tmelanson@chelmsfordwater.com or 978-256-2381.

The end of December 2012 and the beginning of January 2013 will see a few changes to the library - as well as a few interruptions in our day-to-day services.
Holiday Hours
The following changes affect Library hours for the Christmas and New Year's holidays:
| |
Christmas Eve Eve |
Sunday, December 23rd |
| Christmas Eve |
Monday, December 24th |
| Christmas Day |
Tuesday, December 25th |
|
| New Year's Eve |
Monday, December 31st closing at 1 p.m. |
| New Year's Day |
Tuesday, January 1st, 2013 |
Besides the days and times listed above, the library will be open regular hours - including 1 PM - 5 PM on Sundays!
No Internet Access on Wednesday, Dec 26
On Dec. 26th, the Town will be switching to a new and faster internet provider.
This means we will have a day without internet access at the library. You will still be able to check books out and use the catalog from home. We hope to have internet access restored by Thursday.
Library Closed Mornings Jan 7 - Jan 11th
The main library will be doing some building upgrades on the ceiling in the main lobby the second week of January 2013. Because of the construction, there will be a delayed opening that week. The main library will not open to the public until 2:30 p.m. from Monday, Jan. 7th through Friday, Jan. 11th
However, the MacKay Branch Library at 43 Newfield St. in North Chelmsford will be open from 9:30 a.m.—2:00 p.m. daily (in addition to the branch’s regular hours).

The Town Clerk of Chelmsford, Onorina Maloney, is recruiting residents to preserve the democratic process by helping out on election day.
We have an amazing and hectic Presidential election next month. We are in need of passionate, energetic individuals to work the whole day as Deputy Wardens. The hours would be from 6 am until possibly 10 pm (or later). We are also in need of energetic poll workers to work either the full or half day.
Yes, it is a long day; however, it is one of the most exhilarating experiences to be part of the ultimate democratic celebration.
I will have training on October 23, just for Wardens and Precincts Clerks and on October 25 for the Poll workers.
Please let me know if you are interested, and if any of your co-workers, or volunteers are interested. My goals is to have any individual fully trained and be able to commit to this election and to future elections.
Thank you very much.
Gratefully,
Onorina Z. Maloney, CMMC
Town Clerk
Volunteers can download and fill out the Election Worker Profile Sheet [pdf] and turn it into the Town Clerk's office:
