However, in addition to various print versions, it is available both as an audio book on cassette tape and CD, and a new format we’re trying called Playaway.

The Playaway format is an mp3 player with Empire Falls already loaded on it. Patrons can check out the Playaway player from the library like any other audio book, but not have to worry about swapping CDs or tapes – the entire book is contained on one small device.
